2020 Summer Season - we have open positions for:

  • Pool Manager

  • Chemical/Operations Manager

  • Lifeguards

  • Guest Services Assistant (checkin/snack shack/facility upkeep)

 

POOL MANAGER/ASSISTANT POOL MANAGER

  •  Prepare all work schedules for employees making sure the manager or head life guard is on duty at all times the pool is open

  • Chemical analysis and application

  • Hire, train and provide supervision of all lifeguards

  • Insure hourly employees work scheduled hours and according to budget

  • Report hours, days & time worked for all employees under his/her direct supervision

  • Assure correct and completed time punches before payday

  • Hold monthly training & safety meetings for all employees under his/her direct supervision

  • Track pool attendance, balance cash drawer, & process daily deposits utilizing required deposit and reconciliation sheets

  • Insure proper operating condition of all equipment

  • Able to handle first aid problems

  • Maintain staff rotations and staff breaks

  • Maintain discipline at the swimming pool facility and supervises all staff enforcing staff policies and rules

  • Enforce the Ridgewood Swimming Pool rules and regulations to staff, members and guests

  • Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool

  • Document and reports all disciplinary problems and accidents to the Pool Board in a neat and concise manner

  • Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of facility, and pool vacuumed as needed

  • Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow

  • Place orders when supplies are needed and if equipment needs repaired

  • Schedule events held at the pool at times other than the regularly scheduled hours

  • Meet with the Pool Board as needed and provide information concerning pool operations

  • Other duties as deem necessary or as required

Education & Experience: Prefer candidates with knowledge and experience in pool management operations. General management experience preferred. Must have Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification.  Pool Manager will work 30-40 hours per week, Assistant Manager will work 20-30 hours per week. Available to work starting mid-May (pre-opening preparations) to end of summer season including Memorial and Labor Day weekends, and 4th of July.   Pool will provide 50% reimbursement for cost of Lifeguard Certificaiton upon hire for position.

Age: Must be twenty one years of age or older.

Skills: The ability to follow Ridgewood policies and procedures and to concentrate on tasks in the presence of distractions. The ability to provide instructions to employees under his/her supervision and have excellent organizational, public relation, oral & written communication skills. This employee must be able to count money and change correctly.

CHEMICAL/FACILITIES MANAGER

  • Leads and assists with maintenance of pool to provide a clean and safe facility.

  • Perform and supervise pool maintenance duties including back-washing, regular cleaning of baskets and filters, vacuuming and skimming the pool, cleaning deck and grass areas, empty trash receptacles, and caring for the overall cleanliness of the facility.

  • Ensures daily chemical, safety, and equipment logs are recorded and maintained.

  • Tests water chemicals and makes appropriate necessary adjustments to chemicals or chemical feeders to comply with health standards.  

  • Manager should seek advice from qualified personnel when completing chemical adjustments to ensure quality operation of the facility.

  • Attend/facilitate regular mandatory staff meetings and in-service trainings monthly.

  • Works well with lifeguards, lead lifeguards, check-in staff, instructors, and supervisors.

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  • Makes recommendations to pool management for changes and improvements in operations, training, staffing, policies and procedures, and other areas. Helps implement any changes.

  • Maintains inventory of chemical, emergency supplies, and daily supplies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be available to work April-September for pre, during and post season operations. Basic knowledge of pump room operations and preventative maintenance of all pool functions and operations.  Will work approximately 30 hours per week. Available to work starting mid-May (pre-opening preparations) to end of summer season including Memorial and Labor Day weekends, and 4th of July.
